Sarita Edgerton is a committed conservative voice in the South Carolina House of Representatives, serving District 34 in Spartanburg County. A wife, mother, small businesswoman, and longtime community advocate, Sarita entered public service with one clear mission: to defend the values of faith, family, and freedom against the creeping influence of big government and progressive ideology.
Sarita Edgerton has earned the nickname “The Hammer” in Columbia because she hammers down on fellow legislators whenever they try to pull fast ones on the people of South Carolina. Whether it’s hidden spending, backroom deals, or policies that betray conservative values, Sarita doesn’t let anything slide. She calls it out, she confronts it, and she fights to protect her constituents from being taken advantage of by the political establishment.
In addition to her fiscal conservatism, Sarita is a champion for parents and students. She has been a visible presence at the Statehouse, welcoming Spartanburg 4-H students to see government in action. Her background as a homeschooling mom gives her a front-row perspective on the need for school choice, transparency, and accountability in South Carolina classrooms.

Beyond her legislative work, Sarita is deeply rooted in her community. She has been married to her husband of 24 years, Mike—a local land surveyor—and together they are raising four children and a son-in-law. Their family also includes two dogs who often join them on outdoor adventures. One of their favorite family pastimes is playing disc golf on the many beautiful courses throughout Spartanburg County.
Sarita is also a South Carolina Realtor, a faithful member of her local church, and an active volunteer with charities across the county. She has served on several boards and committees, always working to strengthen her community and give back to the people who have given her so much.
Constituents know they can trust her to speak the truth, fight for limited government, and hold the line against policies that undermine conservative values. She believes public service is not about personal gain, but about giving ordinary citizens a voice in a system too often dominated by elites.
Sarita Edgerton is more than a legislator—she is a wife, a mother, a neighbor, and a fighter who refuses to back down when the principles of freedom, faith, and responsibility are at stake. She continues to work tirelessly to ensure Spartanburg families, and all South Carolinians, have a government that reflects their values and respects their sacrifices.
